Our approach to privacy and spam

Your privacy is very important to us at Always Learning Books. To better protect your rights we have developed our own privacy principles, which embody the National Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Privacy Act) and also complies with the Spam Act 2003, which deals with restrictions on sending emails. This privacy statement is designed to assist you in understanding how Homeschool Australia and Always Learning Books uses and safeguards information and resources you provide when ordering from Always Learning Books or subscribing to services and offers provided by Homeschool Australia.

Collecting your information

We collect personal information when we provide our services to you. Generally, if appropriate, we will tell you why we are collecting personal information and how we plan to use it, or these things will be obvious when we collect the information.

If you are a customer or client we usually collect personal information such as your contact details and your title or position. Where relevant, we may ask you for other information - for example the ages of your children, your interests, homeschooling approach, or if you belong to a homeschooling support group or organisation. We may collect this information in the course of providing better services to you.

Collecting your information using this website

We generally only collect personal information from our websites (see list below) when it is provided voluntarily by you - for example, when you fill in a form to subscribe to our publications or to register to attend a seminar. 

When you visit this website or download information from it, our Internet Service Provider (ISP) makes a record of your visit and records the following information:

• your Internet address;
• your domain name, if applicable; and
• the date and time of your visit to the website.

Our ISP also collects information such as the pages our users access, the documents they download, links from other sites they follow to reach our site, and the type of browser they use. However, this information is anonymous and is only used for statistical and website development purposes.

How we use and disclose your information

We use your information to provide and market our services to you, and to enhance and develop our relationship with you. We do not share this information with any other business, company or individual. At Homeschool Australia and Always Learning Books we are bound by professional obligations of confidentiality. Homeschool Australia and Always Learning Books is not responsible for the content on the link sites and is not responsible for the accuracy of the information and intellectual property notices therein. Some of these link sites may provide you with opportunities to purchase products. We do not endorse any of the products nor do we make any representations or warranties in connection with the products.

Online Behaviour

Please exercise respect when participating in any of Homeschool Australia and Always Learning Books community features such as Forums, Bulletin Boards, Chat Rooms, Email functions, etc. You may not submit or publish through Homeschool Australia and Always Learning Books any user materials that are libellous, defamatory, pornographic, an invasion of privacy, obscene, abusive, illegal, racist, offensive, an infringement on any intellectual property rights of a third party or would otherwise violate the rights of any third party.
